- Hand Up is so confident in the caliber of our graduates that we offer a 6 month risk-free probationary period to employers, in which Hand Up will be the legal employer, hold the liability, provide payroll, worker’s compensation, all tax withholdings. We simply ask to be reimbursed for the worker’s salary plus a small mark up to cover our liability and back office expenses. After the 6 month probationary period, if you are satisfied with the worker’s contribution to your business, we ask that you hire them at no additional cost to you. At the end of the day we want the arrangement to be beneficial to all parties.

All graduates of Hand Up have completed a rigorous screening process that includes a significant educational component that is intended to give graduates an understanding of how to both gain and maintain employment. The screening process also includes drug and alcohol screening, computer classes, workshops and other tools to prepare participants to hit the ground running. - A source of “super motivated” job applicants

Hand Up works with participants to identify a mentor who can support their ongoing success. Hand Up provides support to both the mentor and the graduate as the graduate moves forward in his or her job. Mentors can also meet and learn from one another throughout the process.Sometimes the mentor comes from the community, other times from the employment site. Either way, the mentor gains skills related to supervision, problem prevention, conflict management and many of these skills are useful in other areas of business. - Community Philanthropy combined with the routine task of filling job opportunities
Homelessness is a community issue. The reasons that contribute to the problem of homelessness are vast and complex. For every homeless person there is a unique and individual reason why that person is homeless.
