In working with the homeless, I find two things are critical for them to get back on their feet as members of society- a roof over their head and a job. Hand Up Cooperative greatly facilitates people getting and maintaining a job in the marketplace.–Sister Mary Alice Murphy, Fort Collins Homeless Advocate

Hand Up Cooperative allows me to give hope to people I see daily at my work, people who come to me looking for assistance, asking for a job, for anything that will help them change the situation they are in. So now, thanks to Hand Up Cooperative, I can tell them, ‘There is hope, there is something you can do to change your life, there is Hand Up Cooperative that will help you get a job!’ Hand Up Cooperative gives people hope and allows them take their lives in their own hands. –Olga Duvall, Social Services Director, The Salvation Army

Employment plays a critical role in ending homelessness in our community for two very significant reasons. The first is the obvious financial gains that employment offers which allow someone the necessary resources to be self-sufficient. The second, but no less significant, is that employment makes someone feel important and meaningful. Many homeless people feel neither of these. The Hand Up Cooperative is laying a foundation in this community for our most vulnerable citizens to feel these most essential of human emotions and in doing so, is getting us closer to ending homelessness in this community.–Bryce Hach, Director, Homeward 2020
